    Default G'day from Newcastle

    Hey all,

I'm Mitch from Newcastle, 28, I work in IT as my day job but like doing metal work as a hobby. I mostly build custom stuff for motorbikes. I've got a small chinese mini-lathe with a few modifications, mig/tig/arc cigweld welder a few other tools as well.

I'm hoping this weekend to build myself a linisher, picked up a 3HP motor on the weekend that has "Linisher" written all over it.

Hi Mitch, Welcome to a TOP FORUM, and Thanks for changing your location.
We love pics of stuff that you've made and WIP (Work In Progress) reports, so feel free to make us jealous with some of your items, PLEASE.

    Thank you!.

I don't have a whole lot of WIP at the moment, I'm 99% of the way through changing the motor out on my mini lathe. I burned out the old one and replaced the old 500watt motor with a 1500 watt. Had to add in a jackshaft where the old motor was and bench mount it. Just have to grind a flat on on the jackshaft for the pulleys and it's done.

My other homemade tools are a bending break and a pipe bender, both of these are 100% garbage. Functional. But garbage. Literally made from garbage, I brought the metal for $0.50 a kilo at a scrap yard. Very rusty, the metal had probably been sitting outside for 10-15 years judging by how pitted it was on the parts I did bother to clean up.
