    Default v8 vedette motor

Hello all, I'm on the look out for a v8 vedette motor a 2351 cc V8 out of Simca Vedette. Does not have to be complete or running, even if you have just the engine block that would be fine.

I spotted one of those V8 powered Vedette cars many years ago at Launching Place . Quite a rare car here.

Looks like a 60 bhp Ford engine , did Simca make the engines under license ? Even the little Ford V8 60 bhp engine is rare here in Aust.

Maybe a advert in Restored Cars magazine ?

Yep ford v8 60, i think Simca took over and built them for the European market, there are ford Flatheads v8 around but would like this type as there are very small in side, like to do a v8 motorcycle build one day with this type of engine, have a spare honda goldwing frame that can use. This chap use a flathead v8 in his motorcycle build. Yeah I'll try Restored Cars magazine thanks.

There’s a mechanic here in Sydney with Simca Vedette.
He had a workshop on Parramatta Rd at Strathfield.
He was a relative by marriage to a bloke I went to school with.
Dropped into say g’day after finding out he’d had a Vanguard/TR engined speedway car.
(I have a dead TR engined Mog in the shed.)
Think he’d had a falling out with my ex school contact as he wasn’t friendly.
When I’m next going past if his shop is still there I’ll see if he’s got anything.
There are weird V8s out there, I remember a compressor with an air cooled V8

Thanks clear out, most of the 60 v8 i have seen all have the bell housing cast into the block which i don't won't. Yeah the air cooled v8 are cool, Tatra V8 come to my mind the engine was fitted in the back of the car. This guy fitted one in a motorcycle frame, has a nice sound to it
