VIC (Geelong) Macson T&C grinder on FB Marketplace - $400
Rough Macson T&C grinder, but has magnetic chuck.

Pretty local to me so I may be able to assist with pickup.

Looks to me to be more like a surface grinder than a T&C grinder???

Prices are usually good when the seller doesn’t know the difference between a surface grinder and a t&c grinder

Now sold.
The swivel in the middle/top of the table is usually a feature of a T+C grinder,
although without a tilt/swivel grinding head, fairly limited?
(can't see from photo if it has that feature)
...but I have once seen a swivel table that bolts on top of a normal surface grinder table...
so some SGs can become T+C Gs????Nigel, from a cave FULL of unfinished projects and lost tools.

I think there is one too many 0's on the end of that price.
TC grinders are not worth much these days. A good condition fully tooled one might bring what they are asking for that rusty boat anchor.Gold, the colour of choice for the discerning person.

A couple of years back I’d probably have thought similar, but since the bat flu calmed down and inflation went up there’s bugger all around that’s not asking $2k upwards - and that’s not even fully tooled.
Given that “boat anchor” had a decent sized mag chuck I thought it was pretty reasonably priced in the current market - and someone else must have agreed as it was sold in a couple of hours.

I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Nothing under $2k locally here, and fully tooled are advertised for around $5k
Not saying they are getting $5k, but in the past 6 months nothing under $2k that is operational seems to last more than 1-2 weeks on Facebook marketplace.
Best value I’ve seen in that time was a Hercus/Clarkson size machine partially tooled for around $1400.
