I reckon whether it’s 3T or 7T probably doesn’t make much difference - a decent crane truck and operator is needed unless you’ve got serious experience and equipment to do it yourself.

The last bill I had for moving a couple of smaller mills was a days work at $1600. This would be at least that so the machine will need to be cheap. Also I am not sure if the 100mm concrete floor would be up for it although the machine has a big footprint probably giving relatively low psi

Hi Pete, Can organise to pick that up for you, and POSSIBLY take it over also. Just let me know the details WHEN you win it.

That’s not an unreasonable price for a days work with a decent truck and operator.

Although it’s a bigger machine than the couple of mills you had moved, there’s potentially less faffing time dealing with a single machine load in terms of rigging, finding the balance point and tie down etc.

Concrete will be fine - Just do it!!

My Kearns OA borer came on a tilt tray truck. 3.7 tonnes, wasn't any drama to unload it and later skate it into position. They're not at all top-heavy so pretty easy to move safely.

Some of the big iron went quite cheaply though.

I know Peter O scored a couple of machining vises, they'll be heading over in a week or so with me.

Yep a couple of vices, a small Elliott mill vice that will join my restoration queue and a large-ish drill vice that had been bundled with it, very happy and thanks to Kryn and Eric for arranging pickup and transport. I was thinking of bidding on the planer and asking if they wouldn't mind grabbing that for me too?

I watched a bit of the sale online this morning but my internet kept dropping out, I was keen to see what the big planers went for just out of interest. I missed one sale and the other was up to $6k when I lost connection. Also it seems if you want an anvil, you have to REALLY want an anvil. $2300 on one, dunno about the others.

small planer 6k big one 6.5k, nearly all the machines went for scrap. My work got the big slash grinder.

i got the 10T arbor press and a 20-24" mic, wasn't even in the ball park for most of the stuff i wanted.

On MGS after the sale you can go back into the online bidding platform and look up a lot to see what it went for, but it only works for 6 or so hours after the sale.
