I bought both of them , the first guy that was going to look at them actually messaged me as I was the second person to contact the seller and asked if I could look at the lathe with him, the first guy didn't buy it and I snapped them both up, only grabbed the lathe as I have a guy looking for one. the mill also had the vertical head and the adapters for the collets and shell mill.

Welllllllll Kryn, I kinda found a small spot for it and it kinda just fitted in there nicely and it really doesn't take up that much room and I really wasn't all that keen on it until we found the vertical head and a few bits for it then my interest peaked and I needed something to attach my slotting head to for one day when I need it.
It might be in my shed for storage for some time before it is ready to be moved out of my shed sorry mate.

You have a Hercus slotting head?
lucky to find the vertical head with that machine. While this is the three slot machine, I assume the vertical head is the same size and would bolt onto a two slot machine?

The frame size is completely different between the 2 and 3 slot machines in that the 3 slot has a 4 bolt flange instead of 3 bolts but the head itself is the same so I can mount the slotting head on the 4 bolt frame or make an adapter plate to mount the slotting on and a spacer for the gear the same thickness as the adapter plate.

thanks didn't initially notice the extra mounting hole as posted above. apart from a few images I've never seen a 3 slot machine so good to see some of the differences. must be harder to find a vertical head for them, so good that you got one.
hope you can adapt that slotting head,... If you can't then I'll offer to look after it for you
Whats with the toothed belt drive in one of your earlier images? is that standard on the 3 slot? looks like it has two speed ranges? Motor doesn't look like the standard ASEA model.

Thanks Steve for offering to look after the slotting head, I will definitely keep that in mind, I actually picked up a 4 bolt head some time ago from a school but they didn't have a mill and Mal had a guy chasing one, would have been good to have kept it to mount the slotting head straight onto but I never thought I'd pick up a 3 slot mill. These mills have the tooth belt drive with a much better speed range,
the speed plate is like a 260 speed plate, they were designed a bit better even have a tapered gib instead of the flat gib.
