It is a dealer though. Centurion Machinery.
Gold, the colour of choice for the discerning person.

From what I can gather, that's about half the new price. Colchesters are pretty much indestructible (our 50 year old Mk 1 Bantam will still run 1600 rpm all day with no more than 2 microns spindle runout) so for an industrial buyer it's probably not a terrible long term investment, I'd certainly pay the premium over a new H&F (or other generic Taiwanese) equivalent https://www.machineryhouse.com.au/L638D

I agree that the old Colchesters are pretty bullet proof but the newer ones like in the link are rubbish. We have a magnum at work that is the bigger brother of the one in the link, and i hate it, it has some very serious design flaws, would rather have a good Taiwanese lathe like a Chinhung.

Ah, didn't realise that quality had dropped so much. I haven't used the big lathes enough to really know, all I've had is vintage Colchester and Schaublin so I'm a bit spoilt in that department

This auction started with a buy it now price of $700. I bet the seller is a very happy person. On the plus it became easy to decide not to buy.

I just wish I had have been in a situation just to buy 1 Scraper, 1 Surface grinder and a really good lathe, oh and a 1971 Guzzi as they are fetching very high prices now. Not to make money, just to use and own.

When i pick up my surface plate a while back in craigieburn, there was a large warehouse full of metal work machines, most of them were sold to a Indian chap. The machines were pack into shipping containers and ship back to India.
