Taft-Peirce surface grinder (Lithgow)
https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/lith...der/1255631899
Nice looking little machine. They apparently have a 5" x 12" envelope. All ball bearing ways, and apparently the balls run on removable (and thus replaceable) hardened steel strips, making it eminently rebuildable, providing the spindle is good. The really interesting feature though, is that the head on these machines actually tilts! Seems like a very handy feature for doing awkward tooling type stuff.
Really tempted myself despite the fact its probably a bit on the small side for what I'm likely to end up wanting to put through it. But being in Melbourne lockdown, Lithgow is a couple of bridges too far, and being an all ball bearing way machine, my understanding is you need to strip it down for transport so as not to brinell the ways - so not just a 'send a truck' type deal. Also, think he's a bit light on with his weight estimate, figures I found suggest more like 800kg...

I like the art deco look to it. Would go well with a 10EE.
Gold, the colour of choice for the discerning person.
