    With it being so hard to find an anvil on the secondhand market it’s hard to know if these are priced fairly. $1250 for the cheapest here. Would these be standard dealer prices?

    Those prices of are pretty standard for decent anvils.
    About 10 years ago when I bought mine $3-$4 per lb was the standard price, fortunately mine was only 112 lbs and managed to haggle the seller down to $2.67 PER LB.

    Fair enough. I’m on the lookout for one but I I’ll be improvising for a bit unless I strike it lucky.
    No hurry. The forge needs to be built yet.
