it needs more than some bit of tlc , the bench drills bottom table, where the column sits in has been dropped and the casting snapped in half, and the snapped in half piece is missing so i think the drill is more suited to parts only incomplete

If it is just the base into which the column sits, I don't think it would be beyond the average blokes ability to come up with a replacement. A heavy vehicle brake disc might be a good starting point, or a fabricated enclosed box with plenty of reo, and an insert, drilled and tapped to match the column socket. The box could be filled with concrete to give it mass and rigidity, and levelling feet could also be incorporated if desired. A bit time consuming but not overly difficult if there rest of the drill is there and intact.

ropetangler for what that drill went for nearly $200 its hardly worth the time and effort fabracturing a new bottom table, assembling and painting, when you can buy waldowns complete ready to use for less, its simply not worth it, in fact even for parts its way too much, as another forum member stated crazy prices

I bought one of these for $60 a few years back, it had one of those waldown cast iron bases that I ended using for the bench grinder.

The drill itself was all together and not in pieces. One day I will either find a bench drill type base for it or make a new stand for it.

I agree Doge at4, I wouldn't pay that much either, but if you are cash poor and time rich, and have the pressing need for a drill press, I still think that its doable just the same. There are always going to be people who score amazing buys and get a perfect tool for next to nothing, but most of us need to make a decision on what is available in a reasonable time frame, and we have to pay what it takes to procure the item.
For the record, the price that this particular Waldown was at when I posted my comment was $87, and at that price well worth rescuing. It largely depends on what resources you have at your disposal in your scrap bin, and what tools you have to make the bits, + of course the price you put on your time.
