Nice lathe and IMO the price is fair. D1-3 tooling isn't exactly common but it's not impossible to find or pay for either. Really needs a good P-B light duty 4 jaw IMO.
I know I've no intention of parting with my Chipmaster - well not until I get a restored 10EE or one of the Eurotrash Schaublins anyway, neither of which seems real likely.

Funny as I have a few Pratt chucks including the revered 6 jaw and except for the convenience of eccentric adjustment on fine stuff they are a vastly over rated chuck imo . Certainly not as strong or quality as the Czech or Japanese offerings.

Maybe so but the P-B light duty chucks have a chuck body that's maybe 60mm deep and are a much better fit to the Chippie than bigger/heavier chucks. I've got a 6", 8" and 10" 4 jaw light duty and I use them all regularly. They're nice chucks IMO.
I've got 3 or 4 P-B 3 jaw chucks in the 5" diameter size and they're all crap. They came well (ab)used with the machine so I've no complaints.
