It's gotta be more than 50-70 kgs.

I do remember seeing one milling vice for sale last year that made the 600 x 600 pallet seem small!

Friend of mine had one of those he bought new (long time back). It had all the weaknesses of a Myford - soft flat bed, lack of rigidity and pathetically undersized spindle bore - coupled with the quality of a bottom price Asian lathe. I wouldn't take one as a gift (unless I could think of someone I didn't like and/or wanted to turn off machining as a hobby).

I linked it for its novelty value, I would like to see one in the flesh some day.

They aren't much of a lathe but better than no lathe at all and arguably better than some of the bottom end Chinese 8 x 18 lathes. Not worth that sort of coin that's for sure.

Really I think they were aimed at the auto electricians who needed to skim a commutator or similar not people wanting to machine stuff to sub-1/1000 of an inch. Which you can do on a good condition Myford.

The supply of reasonable quality (regardless of price) used machinery seems to have dried up in recent years, or the sellers have moved to new sites to sell stuff. Pickings on Gumtree have been slim really.

The Gumtree pickings have been slim recently. I have had some luck on Facebook Marketplace. But because the sort of people that use Facebook have a herd mentality so a soon as someone puts a ridiculously high price on something then all similar items get priced accordingly. I bought a another Colchester Bantam and a Macson benchtop SG from there in recent months.
