    He put a lot of work into it, for what is a $10 gear AU, that gear is a sacrificial gear and is designed to fail under overload, hopefully the alloy one will do the same

    Looks like he's from Eastern Europe and things like the gear may not be available as a spare part. It might be a $10.00 part here, but knowing how manufacturing is being done, that spare part is "no longer available" you'll have to purchase a complete new mechanism.
    It was more the concept/how to, that I found interesting, if you've the time and equipment why not!!!
