    Default Reil burner piping

Hi all, am just looking at making a propane powered smelter. I have found the Reil burner and it seems to be what I'm after.
Does the piping have to be black steel nipples or can galv be used without health or quality risks?

I would say that the fittings should be black steel. Using galv would be a health and quality risk.

I have an LPG burner that I made from 1/2" gal water pipe, the only gal that has disappeared is from the part of the burner within the furnace.

I have read that the zinc gavanising is really bad for you, gives off undesireable fumes but if you soak the gal fittings in Hydrochloric acid it wont be galvanised for very long

You only need to strip the zinc for a couple of inches.
Or light it up and leave for 20 minutes...
