    One of my "other" hobbies is milling timber.

    Plus I have a special jig for cutting all manner of blocks and stumps so the two ends are parallel.
    These are horse slalom poles for a horse agility course.

    My copy of anvils in america is buried in storage at the moment, but a web search comes up with this genealogy entry; The Family Tree of Bill Pardoe of The Lye

    And other anvil nerds also mention Stourbridge, which Lye is a small neighbour to in Worstershire. Appears to have been active at least in 1851 to 1881.
