I've cracked the big time! (sort of)
Feeling pretty chuffed with this one, so thought I'd tell the world...
The Gack shaper vice that I developed castings for is finally available on the Hemingway kits site.

Congratulations Michael, nice to see something like that will be available to the world, without the headaches for you.

Thanks Guys.
I had a thought a moment ago - other youtubers sell Tee shirts and hats as merchandise. I could be the only one who does castings

WOOHOO IT'S HERE I've cracked the big time! (sort of)
Agreed. An Oz made option would be enough to sway me to buy one.

When I made the pattern up over 2 years ago now, one of the reasons I posted my 'Gack is back' thread was so that people could express an interest in castings if they wanted one. No one did. I even contacted a couple of people who seemed especially interested but there were no takers, so the pattern was sent overseas. As part of the deal with Hemingway, they get worldwide rights and in return I get 5% of sales for the first 2 years. It's unfortunate but as you can see from the website price, a casting is around A$140. It's speculation - I might make a few $$ from it or might not break even. Regardless, I certainly can't afford to make up 5 to 10 spares, just in case someone here wants one. Sorry, that's the way it is.
My current casting project are these
DSCN8685 - Copy.JPG
These are angular fixture blocks and when finished will be drilled and tapped to enable them to hold material on an angle - either long and thin at 45, 60 and 75 degrees or if the part is short (width of blocks is around 90mm), two can be put together to give surfaces in 15 degree increments. There is also a slightly larger set. I haven't got a current price for them but I would guess around $150 for a small one and probably $200 for the large. Once I've finished these up, the small pattern & build notes will probably be going off to the UK (video will be on my Youtube channel). If someone wants some, now is the time to say so and I can get a price firmed up, potentially do a run of castings for local demand and dispatch them. The large pattern will probably stay here as I don't think Hemingway wants that one, but not many people would either. Apart from the pattern making taking a fair wack of time, I don't own the IP once the pattern is sent off.

Hi Michael, I'm a definite to have a set. Thanks, the idea of having blocks like that is amazing.
I'll rephrase this, I'd like to put forward an expression of interest, to have a set.
If you put forward an "Expression of Interest" wanted, that way you'd have an idea of numbers, if any.

When these things are proven I'll put an ad in the for sale section - otherwise I risk offending someone as pedantic about these things as me.
Just remember the prices I've given above are guesses for one off and not machined. The 'for sale' ad will have firmed up prices.
After these, probably the next pattern making adventure will be for the Taylor-Hobson angle plate. That should be 'interesting'...
