    Default Charles Taylor Birmingham Vintage Tool & Cutter grinder for sale

    This is a project....
    I have searched everywhere for information on this machine. Charles Taylor had a machine and tool factory in the mid 1860s, died in 1895 and the factory was still going in his name in the 1920s. That's as close as I got.

    Nothing on this machine however.

    Anyway, I bought it as a project in the 1980s but later got hold of a C.C. Engineering Sydney T&C grinder which I've rebuilt and am using.
    The Chas Taylor has been sitting in a shelf ever since.

    It needs a small (1/4 - 1/2Hp 2880rpm) motor fitted and some accessories made up.

    I'd like $100 for it, please....

    Default tool grinder

    Hi there.
    That is older then anything I have used. It may be good to go as long as it's not nackered. You just need 1 sliding axis and no slop.

    Consider this thread a record of a vintage machine tool.
    In the meantime it was sold.
