    Default Taylor Hobson Rotary Table

How many 6" rotary tables does one person need? The answer is not two so I'm keeping the Deckel version and selling this.
This is in very good condition. Unfortunately at some point someone has done up the locking clamp too tight and cracked the retaining collar. It's been fixed and works well.
I'd really like $250 for this, tempted to just put it on the shelf in the house. If you're keen let me know.
Pickup preferred but happy to help with postage.
I'm in Geelong, Vic and often in Melbourne and Ballarat if that helps.

That’s pretty cool. It looks like the repair has cracked again??

Hi, I'm interested in the R/T, are you in a hurry to dispose of it? Asking as I'm planning a trip to Steve's (Ox and Bert) at Geelong, to pick up a milling machine WHEN I can get there, due to border restrictions. Can put down a deposit or pay, please send me a PM with your bank details.
    Regards,
    Kryn

I'll put my hand up for that if Kryn changes his mind. Darn cool - not sure what I'd do with it, but I'm sure one day...

Bugger - too slow - I'd have grabbed it myself!
Kryn - I'm happy to pick it up and store it for when you come over if you want.

Thanks Steve, is that so you can use it while "storing" it for me?
Michael, I'll loan it to you, if you get desperate to require one that small.

Wouldn't mind Kryn - take some measurements and see whether it is worth making patterns for castings. Don't think it can really be called a rotary table as there does not look to be any means of driving the table. Taylor, Taylor and Hobson did all sorts of swish measuring gear, so quite possibly it is from an optical measuring/ inspection machine, used to hold a part in the right position for checking.

As for why I might want it, I'm hoping to top this setup one day...

Michael I’m sure we can all pitch in to help with topping that setup.
I’m seeing a good challenge coming up.
you are right that the table is not “driven” as such and rather indexed.
Its likely from one of their many engravers.
I picked up a similar Deckel unit which is driven and fits with some of the other gear I have in the shed.

I'm sure I can make use of it somewhere in the shed, even as an expensive paper weight.

Late to this party... but it is indeed a rotary table for one of their pantograph engravers there is a thread here https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/for....asp?th=131311 which includes a photo of one.

I also think that we should have a market rule that the first to correctly identify an item gets precedence in the order of buyers.

If you want one that bad, ask Michael to submit a EOI for his possible castings.
