    Default Nuttall Lathe for sale

For Sale - Nuttall Model C geared head centre lathe with specifications as follows

Centre height over bed = 165mm
    Distance between centres = 610mm
    Swing over bed = 356mm
    Swing in gap = 508mm
    Swing over saddle = 216mm
    Spindle bore = 45mm
    3 morse taper centres
    Approximate weight = 915kg
    Motor is 3 phase

This is an excellent, solid and accurate lathe that comes with 3 and 4 jaw chucks (camlock attachment) and a fixed steady. Also included is an assortment of Carboloy tool holders and TC bits, and some MT drills and reamers. Originally used as a training lathe in the TAFE system, but then solely as an occasional maintenance lathe to maintain production machinery in a manufacturing business I owned.
(I'm a newbie here and think the attached photos might be upside down - don't know how to fix!).
The machine is located in Mona Vale in Sydney with easy access for transport.
I no longer need a machine of this scale so am offering the package at $3800.00 o.v.n.o.

Hi Tony. Welcome to the forums.

Interesting lathe. The saddle seems quite wide for the distance between the bed Vs!

(sadly, I can't afford another lathe)

We had one of these in the uni workshop and I loved using it.

Photo orientation problem could be due to holding the camera upside-down when taking the shot?
It can be fixed with a photo editor app.

I liked using a Nuttall at NSW TAFE during a 6 month intro course.
Watching the teacher change speeds at lighting speed, using the clutch and brake, was entertaining.
