Hylo Vice
This vice came with my mill years ago - I never used it because of the weight.
Label on side : "Pratt Burnerd International Hylo 2 Speed Vice Made in England".
Stamped on bottom: "D 76694".
Jaws are 163 mm wide.
In two parts because that is the only way I can move it !
Nothing seems damaged, just a few witness marks from clumsy drilling.Hylo Vice 1 compr.JPGHylo Vice 3 compr.JPG
Moves well, no handle.
$300, pick up in Kingswood.
Keep well,
John

$200.
Give yourself a Xmas present.

Must be too big for most of you also,
I have a small shaper to re-furbish, but the vice is too big for that also.
Keep well,
John.

Most will wait for a price drop or stand clear if you say free.

Ask in the Members Transport section if anyone from Sydney is going to Brisbane or close to it. With the borders opening up, you never know?

I got a comment from one of the Members that the fixed jaw appeared higher than the moving jaw.
The photo below shows a piece of P&N Supermax 1/2" sitting on the two jaws.
They are certainly level to the eye.

Keep well all,

I'm interested in your vice John, it looks like it has a few advantages over my chinesey ones. Can you put up photos of the drill damage? If the base is like swiss cheese I'd be less interested. Also could you let me know the size of the handle square- might even be the same as my shaper vice.

Sold pending pick-up.
For those interested, the shaft is 5/8" square and the photo shows the drill marks.

Ha, Ha.
I am glad it was he not me.
I have already got a photo of the vice, sans base, installed on the target mill - looks great.
The PDHM ( Penrith Districts Home Machinists ) are having lunch at the Henry Lawson Club on Tuesday, it would be good to see you.
Keep well,
John.
