    Default Window weights

Have some old window weights, for free if anyone wants them, pick up only Glen Waverley, Victoria.

    Cheers Matt.

    Hi Matt,
I’ll grab a few if there’s still some available.
    Cheers,
    Greg.

Greg. While they are cast iron, almost all of them are chilled cast iron and near impossible to machine.... just saying....

    There’s about 3 or 4 left now, I think.

    Cheers Matt.

    G’day Joe,
The bit about them mostly being chill cast is said a lot but I use them all the time and have only had problems now and then. They’re my go to source for plugs and patches when doing CI repairs and I’ve machined plenty of parts from them including piston rings

Sure they’re not always Flocast quality but I like the price a lot better.
Matt, if you can hang on to the the last 3 or 4 I’ll grab them from you on Monday if that’s ok?
    Cheers,
    Greg.

That is lucky - or I've been unlucky. I was talking from my own experience - which, as you say, is reflected in other posts. None of my stack could even be cut with a bandsaw.... so I stopped trying to use them. I contemplated putting them in our wood heater one winter and try and heat treat them for few days....
    Cheers, Joe

Glad these are steel cast. My experience has alwa6s been lead weights.
