Default Machine shop clearance sale. Lathe, EDM, drill, saw, etc for cheap

    Hi All,

Takai Spotted this on another forum and recommended I post these machines over here. Sorry about being the new guy who just posts a for sale add. Promise I'll be back later

A major downsizing of the machine shop at work means I need to get rid of these machines this calender year. The prices are very negotiable - seriously, make an offer. Anything that's still here come January will be sold for scrap.

First up: A Japax EDM / Spark Eroder / Die Sinker with Strathclyde NC controller and dielectric fluid system. Works. Needs a new battery in the controller, but that's a piece of cake. Hasn't been used in anger for ~5 years, but used to go pretty good. 3 phase. You'll need to organise proper transport. Initial price: $250 (Two hundred and fifty dollars) but very negotiable. No tooling included.

Second; A Parkanson power hacksaw. Got too many fingers? This machine will sort that out in seconds. Not sure if sarcasm/italics. Saw works, unsure of hydraulic feed. Includes the two roller stands pictured. 3 phase. Initial price: $350 (Three hundred and fifty dollars) but also negotiable.

Third; A Unimig 180 MIG welder. Transformer seems fine, but I think there's a wire feed problem, or maybe I'm just a dodgy welder. Single phase, 240V 15A. Initial price: $150 (One hundred and fifty dollars) but very negotiable.
    WP_20200914_021.jpg

Fourth; A radial Arm Drill. Taiwanese built, brand unknown, supplied by Herless machines in the 90's. Has a slow oil leak from the head, but works fine. Has had very little use. Includes an M16 clamp set. This is a big boy, 2.15m tall and ~1300Kg. 3 phase. You'll need to organise proper transport. This machine is located under a mezzanine and will need to be moved out by the purchaser. Initial price: $550 (Five hundred and fifty dollars) but very negotiable.

Fifth; A lathe. Taiwanese built, brand unknown, supplied by Herless machines in the 90's. Approx 1000 between centres and 450 swing over the bed. Works just fine. Includes taper turning attachment and the minimal tooling pictured. 3 phase. ~1700Kg. You'll need to organise proper transport. This machine is located under a mezzanine and will need to be moved out by the purchaser. Initial price: $1000 (One thousand dollars) but very negotiable.

Sixth; A HAFCO dust extractor. I've never used it so I don't know if it works. Single phase, 240V. Initial price: $50 (Fifty dollars) but very negotiable.

Seventh; Old 3 phase vacuum pump. Doesn't suck all that hard. Suit rebuild. Initial price: $50 (Fifty dollars) but very negotiable.

Eighth; A parts washer. Probably HAFCO. I've never used it so I don't know if it works. Initial price: $50 (Fifty dollars) but very negotiable.

Ninth; Centrifugal exhaust fan. Was running a fume hood over our EDM machines, and worked last week when I tried it. ~400 in diameter with 100mm plumbing. Initial price: $50 (Fifty dollars) but very negotiable.

Tenth; A pretty heavy set of welding leads with the stinger and ground clamp. Initial price: $25 (Twenty five dollars) but very negotiable.

Eleventh; A pair of Brownbuilt lockers. Initial price: $10 (Ten dollars) but very negotiable.

All this equipment is pickup only from Warriewood NSW, 2102, during business hours. I've only got walk behind forklifts, so can't help with moving or lifting the bigger pieces. There will be machinery movers on site in the foreseeable future, but no details have been confirmed yet. Let me know if you need more info or photos.

    Hi Faux Forg

Hi and welcome to the MetalWork Forums.

The wording of your ad indicates that you may have advertised your machines in other venues. Grays, Ebay ,Gumtree etc

<Takai Spotted this on another forum and recommended I post these machines over here>

Our rules (see them here- https://metalworkforums.com/f223/t20...es-please-read)

for posting, do not allow for items for sale to be posted in other venues while the same items are listed ,at the same time, for sale in our MetalWork market. Someone , for instance, could bid at the same time on say Ebay while one of our members has bid and a bunfight over who has the right to the purchase can ensue.

This has caused big problems before and its for this reason our rules are structured as they are.

If these items are found be be advertised in other venues the post will be deleted here in the Market. To ensure this does not happen please take action to remove the ad from here or the other venue/s as quickly as possible.
It is one or the other, not both.

To enable you to fully utilise the other use areas of the MetalWork Forums do this:

Goto the FORUM box in the top left hand cnr of the page and click the down arrow. This will bring up a pull down menu that has Forum Home at the top

Click Forum Home which will present a scroll down page.

Our Forum rules, the Terms of Service are right at the top ,we encourage you to read them.

Below that are all the various areas and sub forums that make up our MetalWork forums.

    Again welcome to our Forums.

Man I would love that radial arm drill but can't imagine how I would get myself out of Vic to bring it home, let alone get it out from under a mezzanine and dismantle it into my tandem. You're virtually chucking this stuff out at those prices.

    Morning mate.
I am local to you in warriewood and am interested in a few of the items for sale.
Is there any chance I can have a look at them this afternoon?

Particularly interested in the saw, drill, and parts washer.

    Kind regards,
    Andrew

    To answer some questions that i've been asked;

The drill's minimum dimensions (with the arm down) are 1250 long, 650 wide, and 2050 high. A new HAFCO equivalent is ~1300kg

The lathe's dimensions are 2100 long, 1000 deep (back of the chip pan to the cross slide handle) and 1250 high. The manual says 1700kg

how are these not sold already ?

if you were local I'd have that lathe and drill press already, maybe the EDM also, no idea where I would stick them in my already over crowded workshop but at those prices I'd find somewhere.

If they don't get taken and if your willing to load and strap them onto pallets for transport let me know

Just found out today that the controller for the spark eroder no longer works. Our electronics guy spent a while looking it over, before declaring it dead and scavenging some of its parts. The machine will now be going to scrap next week, unless someone wants it for free before then

After receiving zero interest from anywhere, the spark eroder, vacuum pump, dust extractor and lockers all went for scrap this week. Bit of a shame, as the spark eroder was seriously well built piece, with hand scraped mating faces, and the ways were huge...

All that's left now is the radial arm drill, the MIG welder, and the centrifugal fan. The price on all these is now reduced to $0 (free) if you come and take it away.

Think under the forum rules you will need to unlist them for sale here first, but if you put those on Gumtree I'd be amazed if they were not gone within an hour. Like i said pity you are not closer to me or I'd happily take the drill off your hands.
