Gear Hobber Castings
I have a spare set of unmachined gear hobber castings available. This is to the Jacobs design as published in MEW magazine. There are 9 or 10 iron castings in the set. Asking price is $175 plus postage. Send PM if you're interested. Close to 30kg nett.

Jacobs oringinal machine is desribed in ME magazine numbers 3529-3533 (Jan 1976) and again in 3541 - 3542. This was built up from bar stock, a bit flimsy. College engineering supplies (UK) updated the design and produced a set of drawings and castings. My ones are based on this.
Description starts in MEW mag issue 56
56 A treatise on gear hobbing in the home workshop
57 The hob form relief and backing off attachment
58 The updated machine is described (CES castings and drawings)
59 & 60 Machining and completion
Recent issues have dealt with modifications to the basic machine for helical gear hobbing.
