Hi all, this is a bit of a ring in but has anybody got a Adcock and Shipley Horizontal Milling machine
I bought it as to make the gears for the headstock but am coming undone by the gearbox
The plate shows 4 forward speeds but has 2 forward and Neutral plus I do not believe the gear lever should rock backwards and forwards when operating

I am in the process of rebuilding from scratch as it is in very good mechanical condition but the gallon of Kermit green poured over it and it looks like water based as well is the main job as the table does not look like it has been moved since it was painted a very long time ago

it is a 1EAJ model Plain Horizontal and have only decided to ask on the forum as i cannot find anything in Australia on spares

I have a original manual coming but thought I would just ask as the Horizontal is basically the same as the Bridgeport vertical/Horizontal

So can anybody give me some leads as I have checked the box and it only has allocation for the 3 notches F N R and am puzzled

Tony in the UK said it was a good machine as it has speeds from 50 - 2500RPM 16 speeds

So any help or advice would be gratefull as I could not find a hercus Mill so this one will have to do

all the best Derek bitza500
