    Default my new southbend lathe

    picked this up wednesday ,came with heaps of bits and pieces,only problem it needs halfnut replacement and crosslide nut replaced ,apart from that it is in pretty good condition,looking forward to getting these things fixed ,lovely lathe .........bob

    Default setup for threading

    Hi Bob,
    Looks nice but gears on the lh end aren't standard for the imperial gearbox. Unless it has been configured for a specific task you will need it set up as per the picture. Mal

    that was the first thing I did when I got it home,cant understand what he was doing with it that way

    It amazes me some of the paint condition on these old lathes. It has stood the test of time very well.

    well done Bob - that looks in superb condition. What a total score. Figured what year it is? Was expensive?

    Btw, I am a bit of a South Bend geek - I have a 1941 10". The lady in my life calls it "the first garage wife". )
