If you can't really think of a use for it now then probably a waste.

It will mostly go to waste, you will never be doing an odd job and go gee a reamer would be handy. To save precious workshop space I could take them off your hands .

Personally I would hang on to things like reamer's, face plates and collets ! I made a "Norman Patent" tool post to replace the existing tool holder, which I currently use and prefer.

This is mine mounted on the top slide. You can see the height adjuster in the gap just below the tool block.

This is the rear tool post on my Myford, though I appreciate that that the Southbend lathe may not have a suitable slot on the crosslide.

This last picture is the tool post in use, well stuck out turning a bearing holder.Best Regards:

Murphy's law
If you have the room to keep it, keep it. If you apply Murphy's Law, the moment you throw it away, you'll need it the next day. There are lots of different tool posts around, apart from the lantern, but does have it's uses on occasions. Collets and face plates, I would definateily keep.

As others have suggested, I will advise keeping the Collets, Faceplates and Steady rest. They cost a lot of money to buy when you eventually need them.
The lantern tool post is not super critical since QCTP's are in trend with insert tooling.
Reamers come in handy but can be fairly easily sourced so I will be happy to let these go.

It would have been nice to give us the price here, as we all are not on marketplace.

Thanks Pipeclay, I made the mistake of confusing Market place with the other Marketplace. I had sent a PM for the price and had not heard anything. When I first saw the add I did not see the price. I will give myself a slap around the head.
