DRO for Model O Mill
Has anybody got any experience with fitting a DRO to a Model O mill? I have decided to do this after living with no DRO for a long time.
I am interested in the length of scales to order. My measurements for travel on my Mk 2 (3 slots) mill are X = 415, Y = 120 and Z = 270.
I am thinking a higher end system such as Sino or Easson, but am not sure on this.

Hi Greg,
Don't forget to take into account that they will add on the length of the read head !
I had to shorten one of mine because it was too long. The other pair of scales was OK because I had the space to accommodate the extra length.Best Regards:

Thanks BaronJ. I had assumed that the extra length on the scales (100 mm or so) would need to be accommodated. Any photos you or others may have of a DRO setup on the O mill would be much appreciated.

Hi Greg,
My mill is a Chinese copy of an Optimum BL20 with the extra long bed.
This is a write up that I did when installing mine. Note that I also did a lot of other work as well that needed doing.
