Thread: Correct colours for a 1943 9"?

I'll check but I'm pretty sure there's no number stamped there, just the centering mark.

Mmm....I took the easy option and photographed my 1964 Hercus serial numbers to show you. But...now I look at the tailstock of the 1943 one...no serial number in the usual location. I stand corrected! Maybe the same with the motor/pulley frame s/n location. 1943 is a very early machine, maybe war time imperatives dictated they didn't bother with stamping s/n on everything.

There's no numbers stamped on the plate on the gear cover either.

Definitely no numbers back here! On the upside I did find traces of the dark blue/grey colour as I was stripping it so it may well not be a bitsa lathe after all..
