What attachment is this?
Hi guys,
Just perusing the online classifieds and came across this listing, and I would like to know what attachment is included, the long handle with red knob? I have never seen one of these before, my best guess is some kind of retractable toolpost holder? I have a mate with a Schaublin lathe that has a similar albeit much smaller retractable toolpost holder but I didn't know there was such a Hercus accessory? Or is it something completely different?

As this listing will probably soon disappear I have copied the image.

It's a cut off slide - back tool post(s) can be added, but also use for form tools. Handy in production work.

Yep, we have one for our baby Schaublin 70 at work as well but it has tool mounts front and back with independent depth stops so you get 2 tools for the price of 1
Add the 6 post capstan and you can punch out small parts quite efficiently.

List price for the cutoff slide in 2000 was $1446.
Just down the road from me. Not interested in the lathe. Wouldn't mind some of the accessories though.Chris
