Default Forum Post Assistance Moderator please...

    Hi,
This post is intended for the Hercus forum moderator/s. I'm a bit confused and need some assistance posting. About three days back I put up a new post, and a reply to another post. The issue is that I can't actually see them on the forum for some odd reason....
    Have I missed a step?
Are posts censored by someone before the world can seem them?
Have i somehow, unknowingly transgressed one of the censorship rules?

    Cheers, Craig.

Posts are moderated for new members until you have, I think, 10 posts. A moderator will approve them and let them go through very shortly I'm sure assuming you're not a spammer.

Those were the droids I was looking for.

    Hi Craig.
Well sort of. The program has a built in moderation which operates a bit quirky at times. It was supposed to prevent someone from joining and posting spam. It was first set up so a poster could not post a picture or link until 10 posts were made or a moderator clicked a box and removed moderation. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Sometimes new people join and begin posting pics straight away. The program is quirky as I said.

We have many forums but usually ,the new person can go to a welcome area and that is were I usually notice the new fellas and offer a welcome message. We have 25 plus separate sub forums where the new people typically post all over the place. I endeavor to check regularly but I am crook at the moment. I missed you, sorry about that.

So welcome to the MetalWork Forums
To find your way about, go to the FORUM box in the top LH cnr of the page. Click on it and select the first title of the pulldown menu Forum Home which goes to a scroll down page. TOUs - Terms of Use - our rules ,are at the top. Please make a point of reading them.

Down the page a bit is the welcome wagon where I encourage you to make a post and say hi and tell us about your metal working interests.

Is it possible to modify your profile for your location.? If ACT has surburbs sometimes you might consider including yours. Sometimes you might have a Forum member close by and often they will offer help if they know someone is living in the next suburb over. Its especially applicable in the larger cities. A member might drive to the next suburb to help but might balB at crossing Brisbane or Sydney perhaps.

All in all our members a pretty amazing bunch with a lot of experience and knowledge which they are very happy to share. Thanks for sharing your info about the Hercus lathe paint.
Again a big welcome to the Forum. I'll go and fix the moderation right now.

    Default Thanks!

    Thanks Grahame,
Much appreciated. I do understand that some systems can be a bit flakey at times! Thanks for the warm welcome.

    Cheers, Craig.
