    Default Thread dial project

For a SB I think. I made one for my Sheraton but I made a mistake with the gear . It should be a normal flat faced gear to mesh with the slotted leadscrew, I put a concave face ( as seen in this project ) on the gear and it doesn't mesh correctly , it pushes itself off the leadscrew

When I made mine I didn't have a working milling machine so I made a jig using an existing 32T gear as a master and made it on the shaper. I made a form tool and set the jig at the helix angle of the leadscrew. The material was cast iron from a window weight. Using this method meant no curvature of the gear but it works fine. The lower apron part was made from a pipe reducer.
