    Hi Grnman1147
    Welcome to our MetalWork Forums.

I personally cant recall Hercus or any other lathe maker manufacturing this type of tooling for their own lathe/s.

The ones I have seen have been made by non lathe makers as universal type fit - limited by lathe size.

I could be wrong, as this is just a personal observation.

I saw a home made ball turning attachment that used a Hercus circular cross slide mount to provide the pivot.

Hardinge and Schaublin definitely made them for their own machines, but they're thousands of dollars (the few that are on the market).

Thinking further about this, for small radiuses, can't the compound wind back enough to fit a tool in the lantern tool holder, and just pivot on the compound?

(not in front of lathe, can't remember how far the compound winds back)
