Default A 260 DGM to add to my collection

Hi all, I picked up this 260DGLMH to add to my collection, I will start the rebuild in the near future and post updates as I go, and since I had so much fun restoring 2 9inch lathes at the same time I will also be doing my 260ATM at the same time.

Funny you should ask as today I actually started to work on it, I have been very slack with this project but there's 3 of them to rebuild.

If you wish to lighten the workload, I may be interested in purchasing it

I thought that i should try and keep you entertained with a few photos Boris , here are a few photos of stripping down the apron, a much more complicated ordeal than the standard Model A/B apron, there are a lot more clutches in there.

    Indeed, very entertaining!!

Great to see the exploded view of the apron assembly. To my inexperienced eye it looks to be reasonable condition without very heavy wear. Is that your assessment also or have I not seen the real details in those pictures?

Nothing wrong with your eyes, I am very lucky with these lathes, all 3 of the aprons were like new, I think that they may have had a refurbishment just before they were removed from service, the worms in these are a weak point and tend to chew out, compared to the A/B apron these worms are tiny.

I thought I would add a few more photos, this time the double shaft system internals, down side to this system is that it takes up room around where you might want to but a stop i.e. micro or plain carriage stop.

Doesn't feel like I have achieved a great deal on these but there is a lot of clean parts and that has taken a lot longer than expected and there is still more to go, I have not even looked to the headstocks and gearboxes yet . Also have been sorting out my shed and did a job for a school fitting a guard to a machine for them and received the metric to inch change gears as payment which I am more than happy with.
