I always rely on my wife to help me as she is generally reliable.
However after another half hour.... no luck whatsoever.
This is why I never send any photos on the forum,..... just useless.
So if anyone can give me some guidance, I would be very appreciative.

Well you got one up successfully, thanks Bruce.
Do you still want some step-by-step instructions for attaching photos to messages at Metalwork Forums?

    OK Bruce.

Say you want to write some words, then add one photo below your text.
To attach a photo to your message:

    - Select "Manage Attachments" below message window.
    - Then "Add Files" > "Browse"
    - Select a photo from your computer, then it takes you back > "Upload"
    - In a window below, you should see a small version of your selected photo. Tick the box on its bottom right, then "Done".
    - Your photo filename will appear under "Manage Attachments".
    - You can then "Submit Reply" as normal, and the photo will be there after your message.

When you are adept at it, try sending multiple photos.

Note that large photo files will automatically be made smaller, even if you upload a big file.

    Hope that works for you.

Another photo showing the Sherline Chuck in use on the 260 lathe Hercus Indexer.
The lathe cross slide stops shown, are an addition I made for the lathe, for repeated cross slide accurate movement.
Thank you Jordan for your asistance, in obtaining photos.

    Bruce,
I'm interested in the cross slide stops. I can't figure out how they work because the indexing attachment is in the way. Can you please post an unobstructed pic of them? I also have a slotted cross slide on my 260.

Here is a photo of the cross slide stop I made... The stops plate is fastened to the saddle normally where a travelling steady would be fitted (fastened by the 2 existing tapped holes in the saddle) & the other "tongue" for the want of a better word fits into the tee slot in the extended cross slide. Its a very neat push fit & clamped in position, by the screw shown. This "tongue" is free to move back & forward between the 2 roller stops, as the cross slide is moved.
The rollers are then adjusted to suit the required movement & presto, the lathe then becomes like the early Capstan or Turret Lathes, with accurate forward & reverse movements for the cross slide.
This eliminates the need for concentration & an unskilled (or tired) operator can be utilised, just like the early repetitive operations performed on a Capstan or Turret lathe.
I hope this explanation with the photo will be of assistance.

Great idea Bruce. That's going to the top of my ToDo list. Do you leave it permanently attached?

No, I only fit it to the lathe as required. It is a very quick assembly.
