    I just acquired a Hercus 260-G

    List of registered machines now stands at 2909. This represents almost 14% of the 20805 vee bed 9 and 260 models made since 1939. That's almost 300 more than this time last year.

    count now stands at 2950 and the total number of machines has increased 20809 with that machine being registered in SA. Said to have been bought by the school in the 2000's.

    ARL11907 (with 1 inch raising blocks)
    and R108 which is a 12x40

    Hello Mal, Guys,

    Enhancing Mathu's picture I see "ALR?4??JV? " It looks a if someone has tried to hide the serial number. Not that helps. Is there anywhere else on the machine that a number could be found ?

    there is a number on the surface of the cross slide, but i think that's more of a part number. shrugs.

    so far that's all i've seen. I'll have another look tomorrow

    I shall take a look in a couple of hours time and fingers crossed

    I don't know the originality of the lathe, i bought it 2nd hand about 10km's away from where i live from an older gent who was helpful in giving me a few tips to start out

    Update: nothing in the tailstock except paint :/
