Just picked up a 260 ATM, serial 15772.

I'll start a thread on regarding the restoration in the main area.

I should add mine to the list: an ARM: 15668. Just acquired....

Interestingly, the tail stock shows 15667: I assume it came at some point from some form of institutional environment and the tail stocks have been swapped? Or is this kind of mismatch common?

    Cheers

    Geoff

    Hi Geoff,
Very common, the owner of 15667 hasn't registered as yet. If they do, the option to exchange tailstocks may be available.

    Default c model circa 1967

    Hi Mal.
i have inherited C model number C12435. it is ex tafe and has the tailstock off lathe C12436. I have stripped and rebuilt it but have not finished the job yet. As best as I can figure, it would be a 1969 model.

Default New menber , cleaning up and enjoying Hercus ATM s#18539

    Arvo all,
    Jeff from Bendigo.
    I have a standard ATM # 18539 with tailstock 18540 ( also a spare TS #18497)

The lot came from a local school that must have mixed up the TSs.

    Hi Jeff,
The owner of 18540 is registered, possibly he has your tailstock. Do you want me to chase it up. Machine registrations are now at 2730.

Thought you had a 9" darren, have you acquired a 260 for your collection.

    Default tailstock compatibility

Just be the way of some useless information. To anyone thinking of mixing the upper and lower castings from the 9" and 260 model tailstocks, both sections are a different in height and as such, while they will fit together, the resultant centre heights will be incorrect. All other parts, quills, hand wheels, body nut, spindles, tension handle and clamp plates are interchangeable.
