    G'day all you Hercus 9 inch enthusiasts
    I'm new to using forums, so apologies if I stuff something up.
    I just wanted to throw my hat into the ring regarding Hercus 9-inch serial numbers;
    I have a model AR with serial No AR9443, and on my brother's farm we also have a model C with serial no C2287... Both were bought from previous owners who didn't know any of their history, so I have no idea of the ages of either of them, but would be glad to hear if anyone can tie them to year models.
    Lathe serial 002_A.jpgLathe serial 003_A.jpgHercus 1.jpg I don't have any pics of the model C except the serial number shot! sorry!

    I'd be interested to find a taper-turning attachment to suit this lathe if anyone knows of one for sale, and possibly a collet chuck arrangement!
    I don't always get time to check this site, so it could be days before I see any replies... (I check it at work if I get a few minutes... my internet at home is very slow)
    Cheers

    G'day,

    I have just done a deal on what appears to be a very well kept 260ATM, serial number 18921.

    Hopefully I will be picking up early next week so will be searching the forums for advice on lifting and transport.

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
    conggratulations sounds like a good buy
    lifting best way is to use soft lifting straps around the webbing in the bed be careful it doesnt put any pressure on things like lead screw etc

    I think 1970 serial numbers were 12917 thru 13471,
    so about the time Johnny Farnham was releasing "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head"
