Default Width of flats on flat belt Hercus pulleys

As the heading says, I need to know the width of the flats on early model flat belt pulleys - for 9" models.

    Cheers

Havent got one to measure but going by the width of the VEE's on a later model you would have an overall
distance of 3" to play with,if it was a 3 step cone they would be 1" wide.

this is only the working area of the VEE's is does not take into account the Bull Gear mounting or the rear gear .

    Thanks Pipeclay.

I'm interested in the intermediate pulley as a possibility for use on my Schaublin 102 resto if I have problems rebuilding the intermediate pulley that came with it.

It has serious porosity at one end and I've been building it up with cast rods and grinding it back with the TPG - what a mess - unbelievable.

I've done some dirty jobs, but this takes the cake. I also machined about 2 Kg out of the centre to lighten it to negate imbalance from the porosity.

So far so good, but I'm just checking my options.

    Cheers

Pipeclay's reckoning is pretty close. My Hercus 9's intermediate cone pulley has the 3 widths, from largest to small as: 1 3/32", 1 1/16", 1 1/16".

    Thanks for that.

The intermediate pulley I'm repairing is 1 1/8" on each width, so it's pretty close to Hercus.

    Cast Iron Repairs

Rob, depending on how you go with using cast iron rods, I've had just as much luck with the MIG with the gas turned up flat out.
