hercus 9" c model
Hi guysI hope you can help me my lathe is an old Qld school lathe it was a spare so it was raided for parts. I got it cheap so alls good the main shaft was seized, I took my time to unseize it I soaked it with some good antiseize & left it for about 12 mounths. it now turns freely. I dont know where to find the serial no. The lathe needs new idler gear set & has a mcpherson tools badge on it as well I would like a spare parts catelodge And also a set of idler gears the cg72-18t gear has some teeth missing regards Marcus

Welcome to the forum Marcus. There (at least three) places which are stamped with the number - the right-hand end of the bed; the tailstock (hopefully they match); and the gearbox plate - see pics. Look forward to seeing pics of your prize - well done for unfreezing. Is this the main spindle - is there any damage to the headstock spindle bearings?
A good place to start looking for spares is Mal at Australian Metalworking Hobbyist or Mick Moyle's Engineers Supplies
You will find a spare parts manual on this forum at http://www.woodworkforums.com/f189/p...manual-156990/
Please let us all know how you get on . . . . Mark
