    Default Hercus 9"

What is the best or easiest way to tell if a Hercus 9" is Metric or Imperial.

    Thanks.

Probably measure the lead screw pitch ..but they are similar I think .. 1/8" and 3mm ?

The gearbox should tell you , assuming it isn't a model C .

There should be a stamped mark indicateing model no at the right hand rear of the bed, this number will also have an alpha prefix,if there is an AM,BM or CM it will be metric.
If it has a thread chasing dial there will be 3 gears on it,the imperial only has 1.
If it has a Quick change gearbox the thread selection plate will indicate.
On the Quick change box if it is an Imperial box there will be a line of 8 holes on the right side of the box and 5 on the left.
If it is Metric it will have a line of 8 on the left and 5 on the right.

Would anyone have any idea on what a 9" model A would weigh with the stand.

    Thanks Shane.

No definitive answer but some ideas here.

I reckon it will be close to 200 kg with the standard stand and tray.

    As a guide, a short-bed Hercus 260ATM on its stand weighs 220kg.
