Hi all,
I found this site while looking for information on my lathe.
The pics show what I bought and now the hard work begins.
I am sure I will be asking lottts of questions.
Cheers Phil

Hi,
Good luck with your rebuild. A source of parts and expertise is Mal at Australian Metalworking Hobbyist. Also, look on ebay for a book called "How to rebuild a Southbend 9" (something like that) , its by a company that specializes in Southbend Lathes which the Hercus basically is.

HI,
Good Luck with Your Project. I came across this Website http://www.steammachine.com/hercus/ when I use to own a Hercus, I never Rebuiltmine though. The Hercus on the Website is a Roller bearing Lathe though and not a Plain bearing one. Here is a Link to the Lathes Manual http://www.metalwebnews.com/manuals/lathe-tutorial.pdf .All The Best steran50 Stewart
