Default Hercus Text Book of Turning

hey everyone i was looking in a download archive on HMEM and randomly came across a PDF of the "Hercus Text book of Turning" not sure who uploaded it it is a very good read like the South Bend lathe manual for the 9" workshop lathe but it looks more comprehensive

as i said i dont know who uploaded it but i did not think it has been mentioned on this forum before so for anyone who wants to look (not sure if you need to be a member of HMEM to download it) here is the link

just a word of warning to dial up users its a big file
    happy turning

Hi Patrick, I have just aquired a HERCUS 9" Model C. 1964 model by the serial No.

Is there a dedicated book for that model lathe?
I have the Text Book of Turning which is based on the Model 260.

I also got a O model Mill complete as well.

Lots of stripping and cleaning to do!!

    Rgds

the PDF in that link is for the old models but they do have some stuff on the craftsman lathe but yes most of it is on the 9" workshop copy

try a google search for the Southbend 9" workshop lathe manual i know its out there its not to bad oh by the way a Hercus is a clone of the american Southbend the parts are almost interchangable
    happy turning

    Default Hercus Orig Handbook

    Hi Guys
This is my first posting here I am not sure if you are interested

I have just scanned and PDFed the Hercus Hand book for my Model A
This shows all of the models and attachments. It is old Inspection is dated 1/5/47
    Model A Machine No. 1851

It is still going well as I use it regularly, not that I know a lot about using but I am learning

Ok I have checked the file size and have knocked off the last two pages brought it down to 96dpi and attached it.
If any one is interested in a higher res version Please feel free to email me

    Regards Wickard to my friends
