    Default Calculating GCM

    Hi,

At present in the shop we are in the final stages of putting a truck together. One thing I cant find see on the compliance plate is the GCM.

All the other info for the truck is there, so its easy to figure out how much how much one can load up the truck itself with.

Did some searching on the web, so far without success.

Dont see the point of picking up a trailer for it, only to find one cant put much on before exceeding GCM.

Anyone found any formulas for trying to figure this out, or do I have to go down the route of seeking out an auto engineer?

From an early age my father taught me to wear welding gloves . "Its not to protect your hands son, its to put out the fire when u set yourself alight".

If it's a new truck, or not very old, then the Gross Combined Mass figure should be available from the Manufacturer. The GCM is a figure given by the manufacturer for the chassis' designed weight capacity, including all load, and laden trailers towed. Effectively, the GCM should be the GVM of the truck, and the ATM of any trailer.

    edit:
Both Isuzu and Hino have the GCM's listed for all their current vehicles on their websites...
