Yes, RustyArc, that is my trusty old B7100. Small machine that punches well above its weight, super handy for our yard.

If you haven't already, don't go to the expense of tandem guards (like in the pic in the first post). All you require is a pair of single guards cut accross the middle. Weld each half onto the tray at either end of the wheels and tyres.

Where have the hydraulics come from, and what sort of $$ damage are they?

The hydraulics were purchased second hand of a Toyota Dyna, not something that comes up all that often. For the pump /ram/hose it was $800. Oh that also included the rear hinges

Just a quick update seeing as this site has become so quiet

At the moment just trying to finish the last few things before the trailer gets blasted and painted.

mudguards. Used the original mudguards that came with the tray, just had to cut them down and bend one side. Mudflaps still to be attached to the bottom of the rear guards.


Added a toolbox to house the pump/battery. Replaced the hydraulic hose with a longer one to suit the new location


remodeled the back to include a protection recess for the lights


Hopefully not much longer to go now, as im keen to get it on the road and try its first load.

hi Pulpo,

Unfortunately the trailer is not finished yet, pretty much at the same stage as what appears in the pictures due to other more urgent projects. Will finish it of the coming summer i hope.
I estimate the trailer to weigh around the 1 tonne mark, with load limit of 2 tonnes (3t total)
Cost to date is around 4500 including tray/hydraulics/suspension, a bit more to go with paint and licensing.

The weight came in @ 1060kg. I originally estimated it @ 1 tonne, so i am pleased with the outcome. It leaves just shy of 2 tonnes of payload which equates to a decent amount of sand.
One of the first runs was for some lawn sand, and it quite comfortably handled 6 scoops (wheres my previous trailer was max 3 scoops) the hydraulics handled tipping that weight no dramas as well so overall quite stoked at the outcome.

im very impressed have been contemplating this for a while yet have not been able to find good plans. did you have a plan or make one yourself or did you just feel your way through it?
