    Default 1200x800 coffee table

Here's a coffee table i've been building for a while- did the top seperately from the frame back around christmas, and did the frame last weekend, minus the brackets to attach the top to. finished that off this arvo.

the top is made from 90x19 jarrah bordering 40x19 merbau slats. finished with feast watson danish oil. frame is the usual- 38.1x1.6 stainless, tigged and blended back to 180 grit finish.

    some pics:

Nice one. I like mixing wood and metal.
    I'll have a cuppacino, please.

You have very nicely finished the welds, it's something that really needs to be done well on stainless, otherwise the job looks terrible. Well done.

    thanks guys.

i've done a few pieces in stainless now and you are right, being careless in the finishing can and will show up like a sore thumb at the end of the road.

i've gotten some tips from a member on here to apply to the next piece, which will hopefully be even better as this one still is not 100% picture perfect on the joins. i am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to this stuff
