Default What receptacle should I use?

I'm in the process of wiring outlets for me welders into my new garage. Problem is, my stick welder has a range/dryer plug (10-50) and my new Lincoln welder has a 5-50 plug.

I can switch the ends on the old welder to fit the 5-50 and put them on the walls, or I can buy an adapter to go from the 5-50 to the 10-50. I'm not sure what type would be most useful to have on the wall.

    Any opinions?

    Wabo, welcome to the forums.

Most of us here live in Australia — I assume you are in Florida? — so you might not get a good answer to your question, as we use different power plugs and wiring standards here.

    The most modestly priced receptacle.

Personally I would have the one that is going to be used most plug directly into the wall and save the adaptor for occasional use.

Hi, I would avoid using any adapter, particularly with a high current draw appliance.
