Transmig 195 wire feed not working
Hi all
I have been working on getting my Transmig 195 working. I did a Euro torch conversion and fitted a new wire reel holder to it. It all seemed to work great, pull the trigger and the motor turns the feed rollers. Well I came to get it up and running today and I have lost the wire feed motor. I got the multi meter out and the trigger works fine at the connections in the machine. There is no noise of any relays clicking at all, its just dead now. The mains power light comes on, but no trigger response. Has anybody got ideas of where the problem could be ?
I did take the back off it and tried testing the voltage from a 24v transformer that seems to feed the circuit board in there, but only saw around 2 volts. Could the transformer have just died or is there something else you think it can be ?

Well if it is only putting out 2v, sounds like the control transformer is the issue.

Take the board off the transformer and measure the output of the transformer again. Based on your posted description I’m inclined to think something else is cactus on the board and loading the secondary of the transformer down. Generally speaking if transformers give out and drop turns to go low output there’s normally an apocalyptic display of smoke and flame with it as the insulation of windings burns off. If you have a really acrid burnt varnish smell, yeah the transformer might be US, if you don’t, there’s a high probability your problem is elsewhere..

I definitely didnt let the smoke out of the transformer, so I will try disconnecting the circuit board and measure the outputs again.
Thank you
