Lenses or sheild for A/O gas welding aluminium
Hi,
I picked up most of a O/A kit couple year ago including a Dillon torch. I'm after lenses or shield for gas flux welding aluminium that reduce orange sodium flare. Read about Tinman Tech 2000s etc but a little out of my price bracket. Discovered there is a shield by Honeywell CV85/5W that supposedly is fit for purpose and also Sebring goggles by fournier enterprises, but neither appear to be able be purchased within the country. Is there any alternative that do the same that can be purchased locally or is sourcing from overseas the only option?

I went through this process a few years ago and gave up. I did find these, but never bothered to contact the seller about shipping to Oz.

Hi Jack, thanks for confirming my suspicions. Yes I agree with you and is my reason for the post.
So far I manage to find Sebring, TM 2000, and Honeywell CV85/5W .
None seem to be able to source locally, all appear to need to be purchased from overseas. With TM2000 the most expensive at about AUD$350 for lenses without shipping,
Sebring at about AUD$60 withouth shipping abit over AUD$100 including shipping and the Honeywell , well overseas suppliers don't seem to want to respond to me on that one.
In the end I think I will order the Sebring ones, but was interested to know what people here were using as well.

Thanks, but based on the description it looks like they are just standard gas welding goggles. I don't see any mention of filtering the yellow sodium light that comes off aluminium flux. It mentions "orange glare" which I assume is just the standard orange flame brazing flux gives off.
