SWS Plasma Cutter
Has anybody used our know anybody who had used one of these??
I am looking to buy a cnc plasma table and rather than use the recommended Unimig Cut 45 i thought this looked a better spec'd and priced machine. Don't really know much about then though...

They may be a great machine they may be just a plain ordinary machine. You will have to buy one so we can find out.
There is also https://www.weldclass.com.au/product...plasma-cutters Bit more expensive but Weldclass consumables are popular.
At least with unimig there is a huge number of service agents out there as the business has been around for decades.Gold, the colour of choice for the discerning person.

SWS offer a zero risk money back 90 day trial so I’d say give it a crack.
A mate has one of their TIG’s and its a nice machine. It was recommended to him by a pro welder that was using one at home for his side business.
First thing he noticed when unpacking it was that the earth lead actually has a decent amount of copper in it and a proper clamp - which to me is a good sign that that they haven’t just cost cut everywhere.

I just remembered I saw a post on the Langmuir CNC plasma machine forum from someone who was using the SWS machine and was noting that it worked well.

Read this please !
This Post was moved from Off Topic to Welding- the appropriate area for it.
Off Topic means we talk about Non Metal Working subjects. There a little sign above the OFF Topic page which informs you of this.
Keeping thread subjects in their own forums make it easier for people to search for the related subject in - in the future.
We often remember a thread and go back and look for it. Posting it in the right Forum makes it easier to find. Who is going remember the post they are looking is in the OFF topic Forum when the subject is plasma cutter -that far better relates to welding.
This transferred thread will soon be followed be another one that doesn't belong- in OFF Topic - where it was posted earlier by a different member.
