MIG Pliers
Does anyone use MIG Pliers or are they a waste of money?
I bought a Cigweld 200 and plan to teach myself to MIG weld, with pointers from mates.

Got a few sets, they are the best, totally worth it. Like a Swiss Army Knife for welders:

And the other feature not listed is you can get a perfect 10mm wire stick out from the nozzle if you but the flat edge to the nozzle, and snip with the cutting face furthest away from the tip.

DEFINITELY not a waste of money, the cutting edge is a lot better than using side cutters, as the wire is usually a high tensile. Some mongrel here, used my good side cutter to cut MIG wire and they now look like CRAP!!!!! Don't know about gasless wire.
The design of them, does all the functions required in one tool, otherwise you'd need several pliers to achieve the same result. Shop around for prices, as they can vary from about $15.00 at my local Mitre 10 to $35.00 at a bearing supply centre, all in the same town and the same
brand, Weldclass.
If possible get the ones with the small circular opening just before the cutting edge, as per Commander Keen's pic, this if for removing and replacing the contact tips.
Just looked on Ebay and they range from about $17.50 - $57.00 plus postage.
KrynTo grow old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

I'm to late but went for 24 years with none, then seen them in a online special from supercheap about 8 year's ago for $7 so I thought I'd give them a try and bought them.
I wouldn't live without them now.
I don't know if I'm the only one, but all my life I mig weld in shorts, T shirt and thongs for all my smaller stuff in summer. Heavy welding I'll wear gloves, long cloths and boots even in the middle of summer.
This it where keeping those heavy welding projects for winter if you can is a good idea.
As for welding practice, clean up some scrap and weld it together then put it in the vice and try to break it. Mig weld can look like beautiful welds on top, but have no penatration.Using Tapatalk

Yeah people are different and so is skin and I acknowledge that, I've spent most of my life in the sun, and have plenty of scares from things over the years I forget what happened, lol
I had a Clark 4 melinoma under my right boob that I had surgery on and after 5 years was cleared, no idea how you get it in a crease there.Using Tapatalk
