Mig 0.6mm gassless wire
I'm having trouble finding 0.6 gassless mig welding wire, got any ideas where I might source some in 1kg please. I tried eBay and no show, I'm guessing maybe 0.6 is not a gassless product, I don’t know.

0.6mm E71 wire
Hello from BC.
That's the first I've seen of such small gassless wire. It could be for use in a spool gun only and I can't remember seeing 0.6mm knurled feed rollers.
Is 0.8mm wire too hot?
Regards

Since it's a hollow flux cored wire, it'd have bugger all actual filler material in it. Likewise I don't think I've ever seen it. Manufacturing it would be a challenge too at such a small diameter I'd think.
What are you using it for, specifically?

So I gather that this stuff is not common then. I want to use it for thinner mild steel as I have reduced the current and still getting some blow through on my welds. I'm happy to admit that it could or is my welding technique as I'm fairly new to mig welding and maybe just need more practice with the 0.8 gassless wire.

0.6mm would be rare as rocking horse...
As for your problem, probably a bit from column A, bit from column B. Probably pushing 'it' uphill for anything under 1.6mm.
My brothers from Weldclass have an informativeinformercialdocument outlining some considerations for fluxcored wire selection.
https://www.weldclass.com.au/blog/18...or-0-9mm-wire-
Lincoln Innershield NR-211MP (an E71T-11 wire) is a high quality wire similar to what you'll get out of the usual suspects. They do happen to give some useful operating parameters for their wire:
Remember your CTWD (wire stickout) needs to be about 13mm from the contact tip where the wire comes out to the job - too close and your amps will be higher, and you'll get your burn thru. Aim to set machine to about 14V. If you don't have an accurate wire speed control, turn off gas, feed wire for 10s by timing it accurately, measure wire length, then multiply by 6 to get your m/s.
Also mind the fume from gasless wire. Nasty, nasty cancer forming stuff you don't want to breathe in. Wear a P2 mask at minimum. Or pony up and get a bottle and weld with the best.

Comment on .6mm Fca wire
You do not say what the application is for the .6mm wire. If it is car panel work I fear you work may be cut out for you.
If you can weld in a repair panel with FCAW, you are good - and patient.
FC runs too hot to be used easily for body panels. You'll burn through rapidly, and it gets frustrating. If you are able to, weld small ,short portions to prevent burning through.
If the flux core is acidic,as many flux core mixes are, it can eat its way through painted panel some time later.
I not saying impossible but I think you shall require good practice.
Again welcome to the forums

Thanks guys, I have now solved my problems with welding thin steel based on your advice and now I am welding much better with success. I practice nearly every day to gain the skill needed to become more natural and ready for the day of my big project, some gates for my block, but not just any gates, they need some style. Just thought I'd thank you for your help, still using 0.8 wire
